We bought some kroger re-usable bags for $.99 a peice.  The problem is that your standard bagger is so fucking idiotic and inept, they don’t know what to do with them.

We tried several times to bring those bags and use them.  You hand them to them and say “here use these” and first the cashier will just try to scan them again, as if you’re buying them for the first time.  No no, you say — we brought these.  Use them to bag the groceries.  So she hands them to the undereducated retard doing the bagging, and what does he do?

Folds our bright blue kroger cloth bags up and puts them in a plastic bag, and puts that in the cart, and continues bagging everything else in plastic.

One time we were like NO, the blue ones are FOR the groceries. And he goes “oh ok.” and just walks away, apparently thinking we meant he didn’t have to bag them.  so we had to bag our own groceries, with everyone in line looking on as if we were stalling the whole place up.

Of course the same thing happened at publix.  Since they said kroger on them, the person refused to even touch them, and again just walked away to let us bag our own again.

Its so fucking idiotic.  Both publix and kroger sell these bags right at the front with big displays “Save our environment!  Help keep prices down by reducing waste!  Buy these bags and reuse them!”

But then no one who works there is like, informed of what these bags are for, so it was just a huge waste.  The only thing we use the reusable bags for now is when we go to Sams/costco, cause they dont have bags at all.

So now we just use plastic, and take the plastic bags back to publix cause they recycle them for you.  Its better than nothing, but it still distresses me exactly how incoherent to change people can be.
